| It's kind of hard because the Server+ books are either just now being released or have yet to be released. You might have to wait a few weeks (or months) to actually see what people are using and what is popular.
Good Luck

| I just got the Server+ Study Guide by Sybex in the mail today! It's one of the few books out there for this exam and Sybex has a pretty good track record. I got it from www.bookpool.com for $30 + shipping. Which book did you use for Net+? I'm prepping for that one now and plan to hit Srvr+ after that. | |

| How's the Sybex book seem. I've always like the Sybex stuff but the Server+ book seemed to get more flack than I've typically seen.
I got the Microsoft Press Server+ book from bookpool. I'm about 100 pages into it, and it seems pretty good, however I won't know until I take the test, which will hopefully be in another month, or so.

| I got the Server+ Certification All in One and I Love it. This book is well worth the wait. I have had it for three days now and I cant put it down. Bigelow did I fine job with this book. He made it real easy to read I mean he really broke it down.I have read the reviews on the Sybex book and they sound like horror stories. | |

| I'm patiently waiting for the All-In-One Server+ book. I ordered it from bookpool. Right now, I'm reading a few relevant chapters from Scott Mueller's Upgrading and Repairing PCs amd cramsession's study guide. I bought a compaq server to practice on with Solaris 8 and OS/2....maybe NT if I can get a hold of it. When the book finally arrives, I'm really going hit the studying hard. I want this certification really bad.

| There are few more Svr+ book coming out. It is a new cert, so need be more patient on the material. We all know that Sybex did a bad job on this one.
Also, nothing better than an actual experience on the server. If u don't have any hand-on or working with server. It is not recommend to take this cert. Also, it is not for new techie that just passed A+ and N+.. Think very careful.
Also, as some other Prof stated that it is still not well-known by many IT recruiter and it standard. So, don't expect to get a job just by passing Svr+.
U need to have more professional Svr cert, like form IBM, DELL, HP, ...

| The Server+ All-In-One book seems to also miss the point of the Server+ exam. Very good book with lots of detail, but light on some of the exam topics. Read some of the latest reviews. Those who have it, please post if it helped pass the exam. | |

| I am going with the server + bible. Love the Bible series. I have picked up several of the programming bibles and i love them because they go into so much detail. Check out the Table of Contents for the book at www.hungryminds.com, and search for Server+ or the author Trevor Kay. You will notice that the table of contents matches the objectives. Plus if i know the BIBLE books, there will be information in there that will help you on the job and not just the exam. And that is what is important, because employers are no longer blinded by fancy intials on your resume...they want real practical knoweledge to back it up, and i believe this book will give it to you!!!
Good luck,
Beefster |
