| I want to get going on this and I'm thinking that as this is such a new exam and study material is thin on the ground it would be a good idea to organise a 'study group' to mutually help and support each other. Any one interested, you know what to do! | |

| I'm all for it. I am planning on taking this one soon as well. Right now I am studying for MCSE W2K while I wait for some Server+ books to come out. I believe a couple are due in April, but if you know of some good material and links. I'm game to begin preparing now, and add my two cents. | |

| I am studying for my CCNA at this moment but I'm just anxious to start studying for the Server+. I should have my CCNA by the time a few Server+ books come out and then the fun begins. I love computer hardware which the Server+ is mainly about. | |

| Don't wait for books. Grab the Cramsession Study Guide, Comptia exam objectives, your favorite search engine (dogpile) and get after it. You will learn so much more by researching the material yourself. Pretend like every test objective is that driver or patch you have been searching for to fix that damn modem, scanner,HD,sound card, etc. We are supposed to technically hep. A great deal of info will come from Comptia Cornerstone member sites.(they had the biggest hand in writing the exam) If you do not have some real experience, the test will be difficult. You can read all you want on SCSI but until you fight a couple of version compatibilities... I'm excited to see some dialog on this forum.
Just remember... if it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

| We have the Server+ practice exam in development right now on www.cert21.com
The good news is that we already have 200 great practice questions for it, many of them are very similar to the real exam.
It should be available some time next week. The person who wrote those 200 questions said they are very accurate and really close to the actual questions.

That's why I'm doing the Server+...it's going to be a challenge!!! General consensus says it will be a difficult exam but I'll have to see about that. What's hard for one person could be easy for another.

| CompTIA exams have traditionally been entry-level exams and have tested as such.
I think the Server+ exam is testing somewhat more advanced material (as opposed to N+, or A+) and may be perceived as being "more difficult".
Also, not everyone has access to hardware raid implementations and general server-class hardware. However everyone(in this industry) has access to a personal computer and can understand the A+ or N+ related topics.
Since I haven't taken S+, it's all speculation at this point. I would be interested to hear from people who have taken any of the A+, N+, I-net+ exams and the S+ exam as to their impressions of the difficulty level.
Anyone? | |

| At the present time I am focusing on preparing for CCNA exam. For this exam -- I am using the EXAM PREP book and EXAM CRAM book with the Personal Trainer option by Corislis Press. Plus, three supporting books from Cisco Press for additional background information and practice test software from Pinnacle Software to check on where I need to focus more time on.
I could start studying for the Server+ exam as if I was back in college again and just budget my time around these and work.
