Could anyone suggest the basic level certification that could be taken in Linux?

I found the ExamCram book the best for this particular exam.

LPI level 1 would also be appropriate, although it is a bit harder than Linux+.

Linux+ Bible from IDG, Running Linux from O'Reilly and Sybex Linux+ Study Guide is what I used. Easy test. You may want to wait a bit though. The test is under revision right now. Ask SuperTech for details.

Dr.C sorry for the late reply. I havent been cheking the message. Like I wanted to know if the exam would be valid for 3 years as other Cisco exam?

The Linux+ exam does not expire.
