Still learning, improving day by day.

Does it matter if I add the user like so: Adduser username or useradd username ?

I tried to delelte Using the , "userdel username" command , but when I look in the /home directory i still see all of them, why is that. Whats the command to delete an entire directory? would deleting an entire directory also delete a user's account? (home/ user)

Another one: is it posible to put users and their passwords from ACTive directory in Windows, or should I create all linux user accounts from scratch. Does linux treat each user I create as different users from Windows?

userdel -r username deletes the user and their home directory. Check man userdel. useradd and adduser I think are the same, depending on the distro. I don't get your last question - are you using Samba?

Samba? No, I am not that far into learning linux, just started to mess about with the Vi editors, and learning how to search directories. Just learning my way around. My ultimate goal is to learn how to administer that program. like put up an FTP server, DNS SERVER, SAMBA a little, and the mail Server.

I want to be able to put it on a resume, but not until I learn some of the basics and learning the FTP,DNS, SAMBA, Mail, and web a little.

U understand?

I am using the distro, Mandrake however.

SAMBA can share resources only I think. You should apply LDAP to integrate your accounts to AD.
