Has anyone had a chance to play around with this new flavored unix OS? I am in the process of downloading it and will hopefully install it by tonight.

The screenshots look alot like WinXP, nice and pretty

Thanks.

I just installed Lycoris and it seems ok, but it doesn't work with my Video card.

Well at least you know its linux.

Unlike apple's OSX with unix under the hood and painted like a mac.

Hey maybe SCO will sue apple next!

I have used it through several builds, and I have been pretty impressed with it.

It has picked up some of my hardware that I thought it would never get, but the last build I tried, it didnt like my video card either, and it was a pretty common card.

You should try Xandros if you like Lycoris.

btw, they sell Lycoris on Walmart PCs.

They offer Lindows, Lycoris, and used to offer Mandrake, but they just dropped them for SuSE. They say that the Linux boxes have done really well for Walmart, but I am sure that is partly due to the cheaper price, and the buyers are putting pirated copies of Windows on some of them.

heh yeah, I was searching for some more info on Lycoris and I came across the Wal-Mart website, they do indeed sell Lycoris systems.

I'll have to check out Xandros, thanks.
