Never thought about using the dd command with a hard-drive - just with floppy drive images.

Yepp, i am using the dd command to copy TIVO-Drives.
Ghost is not able to copy those, since Linux based.

Ghost copies Linux drives just fine. I just did it last week.

well, i always had problems with tivo-drives using Ghost, never worked.
I don't know, what it is.

Then it's something with TIVO. Ghost supports EXT2 and EXT3 types.
