| hey guys, i've been studying linux for almost a year now and have settled upon debian,(debian rules!), now looking to try one of the bsd', can anyone make a suggestion as i am at a loss as to which one to try?

| FreeBSD - the best documented and most user friendly, more cutting edge features
NetBSD - the most portable, also very secure
OpenBSD - insanely secure
For a beginner I'd defininately start out with FreeBSD. OpenBSD's worth a shot though once you've become accustomed to the BSD way of doing things. Most of my servers that have been around more then 6 months run FreeBSD, and most of the new ones run OpenBSD. | |

| FreeBSD definetly!
There are some Secure OSs that are BSD based that most people forget also. |
