I'm having some problems setting IP Masquerading with RH 8. I haven't a clue what I'm doing in RH much at all, and it pisses off my swed/roomate when I (who typically is the router for our network) and trying to figure out the in's and out's of RH and hes unable to play his games online. I know I need to set up some iptables or ipchains or something. Well I don't know what I'm doing here so I could really use a hand. The networking part works, like its hooked up to cable and the internet works and the 2nd nic has an internet network address in the same subnet as the other computers on the network etc. So really I just need to understand this part and then things hopefully will be a bit easier for me (at least I'll be able to use RH without pissing him off to much and learn something).

Yup Don't want to worry about setting up port mappings or anything like that right now. Just something simple so Jacob can use the internet while I try and learn

I think RH 8.0 uses iptables by default. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. This tutorial is what you're looking for http://www.netfilter.org/documentat.../NAT-HOWTO.html

odduck, take a look at this:

I believe this can do what you want to do and it would be a lot easier to set up.

Also try this:
