hehe...

I really don't care... but just hope someone, anyone... will step up and just say

this is the way it is, the way it is gonna be, no buts about it.

linux will benefit from that...

but of course that's not the case... some developer will fragment and create their own base on their own vision.

it is just funny to see sort of the line in the sand...

rh... bluecurve... gnome default.
others...something... KDE...

No kidding !!!

What I would like to see is more standardization in Linux.

From a support standpoint, Linux is a nightmare, unless you are only supporting one versioin of one distro. And that would be a fairy tale.

I'm MS certified on almost everything since DOS. I'm no zealot supporter of MS. That is just the main thing out there. I like Linux but, it is a mess from a support standpoint. Far too many options on far too many platforms of far too many versions of far too many distros.
And the desktop theme issue is the worst mess of all. I'd like to see the top 3 succeede & have it locked at that.

Linux will prosper & be accepted much faster once some kind of standardisation is in place. Like UnitedLinux is a start, but it has a long way to go. RH, Debian & Mandrake are so far ahead of it as far as an install base goes, I don't see it making any real impact any time soon.

IMHO
