Hi all what's happening?

I have a Fedora Core box up and running for test, and we have a strange issue. I was trying to force a DVD to dismaount. Why it wouldn't just eject is beyond me, but when I went in to log on as root it did not authenticate. I tried the original account as well, still no dice. After a couple restarts and a cold boot, no luck. The accounts are locked out, and since there was only two I can't get in. I noticed this awhile back on a Redhat 8 box I set up as a DHCP server. Root got me in then. Any idea why Linux seems to dump passwords???

Thanks

Jay
