Sun vs IBM over Java
How can Microsoft not succeed? I have often talk about the infighting.... various standards, diverging technologies... lack of leadership etc... and this just illustrate that...
at a time when the world is apprehensive of microsoft's .net and what it mean in terms of controlling the way we compute, these 2 heavy weights are fighting like cats and dogs... and heh... microsoft is evil, their implementation of java is evil, trillion dollar suits against microsoft cuz its evil...
sigh...
what this development says to the millions of CS major is... screw this, I am going c# and not java... people and companies want stability, leadership, and predicability... they want to know that their efforts will not be wasted... which with microsoft is atleast clear since the rest can't even get out of the starting gate to compete with them...
there is no need for microsoft to fight against its competitions, they will do it themselves with the various working groups, alliances, diverging deevlopment etc etc...
edit: and oh, I woke at 2 am after 1.5 hours of sleep... it is now 3:30 am , I love life! | |
