| Pls,am trying to downlaod Linux 9.0 but on the website there are a few versions like shrike i386 is this the right version to downlaod for intel's and AMD platforms? As each time I burn and download a copy and try to install it does not work or load. It comes up with something like what would you like to use to run or open this file.
Please, let me know as am using an AMD and intel related PC. Thanks in advance. | |

| You download disks #1, #2, and #3 then burn the ISO images to CD ROM. | |

| onoski, Are you sure you are burning it as an IMAGE? You can't just put the .iso on a CD; you have to burn it as an image. | |

| Thanks boulware, am downloading as all files and then using the Windows XP cd copier software to write it on to CD. I think my Nero burner does not support this kind of burning. Thanks again. | |
|
| i thought xp's built in burner can't write iso... but what do I know... ( eveyrthing!!! )
...
just be sure you do what boulware suggested, that when burning, be sure you are buring an image and then select the right file when it display all *.iso files.
edit: and hmmm why do I have the impression that you are an experienced *nix user.. (edit2: nevermind, you ORDERed bsd cd's )
and heh atleast we know you don't rip games

| I don't believe it can either. I wouldn't recommend it.Windows XP wrting ability. Its a built in function of the OS not a program.

| I'm using an 11 year old monitor for my linux/unix thing, I found that mandrake 9.1 was a bit finnicky about video card and monitor setting whereas rh9 installed very smoothly.
on the other hand, mandrake seems to come with more stuff, or maybe I just chose more options during setup?
unix is miserable |
