Hello

Can anyone be so kind as to help me with the following 6 questions, much appreciated :-)



1.) Sample Code
$ nslookup
> set q=mx
> server.domain.com
What are you trying to do if you use the above sample code?

6.) Scenario
You have been hired as a new administrator of an existing Linux network. The previous administrator left without telling anyone the root password to the server, and she cannot be reached.
Based on the above, which one of the following allows you to get root access from the console and to change the unknown password to a new one?

What part of these questions are giving you a hard time? It would be easier to point you into the right direction rather than just spoon feed you.

Where are you getting these questions from anyway? The last one doesn't have any answers that make any sense. And the questions on my Linux+ didn't bear much resemblance to any of the ones that you have posted.

I got these questions from various places... You don't actually spoon feed me because if I know the right question I can check up why it's the right one, at the moment those 6 questions are the only ones I don't know and can't find the answers :-(

OK, I'll give them a shot. But the Linux+ that I took did not have any questions on configuration of various servers running on the Linux box, Like BIND or Apache.

1. MX stands for mail exchange records. It specifies the servers that handle mail.

2. MD drivers are for Raid arrays.

3. 4 I think.

4. ipfwadm

5. The route is up.

6. None of the answers are correct. boot via a rescue floppy and use the "passwd" command to change the password.
