| I just wanted to report that I actually figured something else out while playing around with linux.
I recented was able to ssh into my RH box -thanks Boulware
Yesterday I started playing around with MySQL commands via SSH. I kept recieving errors not being able to connect so I went into google and found a mysql forum, I read some posts that had the same error I was having. I tried the commands several time with no luck. So I got off my butt and went over to work on the box direct. I discovered that the MySQL dameon was not even running as I suspected. I started it up opened a local termianl window and was able to connect. I then went back to my ssh session and was unable to connect. I decide to logoff and restart putty and Vôla! it worked.

| Good job! Usually when you are unable to connect to a server, it is because the servfice is not running or it could be due to a firewall problem (RH sets up iptables as soon as you install). | |

| Thanks. Its good old trial and error but I'm learning more and more. I think I even learn better this way. | |

| That's what hacking is all about. Have fun playing with your system. | |

| Another thing I like.
Starting stopping services from the shell with a 3 word command. Much better then opening and clicking through about 3 or 4 windows.
