Hi all,

The volume is not the problem, nor is the mixer settings. But I don't hear the sound.I heard C-media sound cards have the same problem.

Please help

dunno... sound support in linux sucks... especially if its some no name card.

can you play system sounds? try that... when you run sndconfig, or I dunno if that card have a special routine, did you try the test function to see if it play? try various combination of app, sound file etc to see if you can narrow down what may cause the problem.

most of my linux boxes are soundcard free, cept my desktop which I resolve any issue by using popular and well supported card.

I am very weak in this respect... XMMS has a audio output plugin in its properties setting, when you try to play, does it give error popup, or it is playing, simply no sound output.

anyway, I dunno, my solution has always been to save myself headaches and time by using well tested components.
