| Does it come with a copy of Linux to install at home | |

| Why would you even need it? Just go to linuxiso.org and download it. | |

| And to add onto Boulware5's link, you could also go to http://www.distrowatch.com and take a look.
I don't think any of the Linux+ specific books contain a distro though. At least the Linux+ Study Guide (Sybex), Linux+ Bible (Hungry Minds) and Linux+ Exam Cram (Coriolis) don't.

Actually the Linux+ Bible
does come with a distro.
It's called PhatLinux.
It's just a basic Linux distro to
practice on and whatnot.
It installs on your hard drive like a DOS program. With this distro there is no need to partition your drive.

| Thanks for the pointing out my oversight dagger. *wap* I just plain glossed over it.
In anycase here is snippet from the readme on phatlinux.
Phatlinux
Phatlinux is a full running version of Linux, but it can run on your
current Windows partition. You don't need to partition drives for this
installation of Linux. Phat Linux is a user-friendly Linux distribution
that is easy to install and can co-exist with Microsoft Windows. Phat
Linux allows Windows users to run Linux while preserving their Windows
partition.
This should be good enough to play around with the command line Mauler.

| LINUX ADMINISTRATION: A BEGINNER'S GUIDE, 2ND EDITION
by Steve Shah
Publisher: McGraw-Hill Book Company
the book's companion CD-ROM includes the full version of Red Hat Linux 7, the leading Linux distribution--not a trial or demo version. But the book covers the latest versions of all leading Linux distributions, so you'll get learn a lot even if you don't use Red Hat.
I used this book to study for the Linux+ beta. I liked it.

| And also....If you just want to practice command line stuff, you can just find a Linux shell. I have about 3 different shells I run IRC bots from, but you can find one from anywhere between $3-$15 a month. You might even be able to find a free one. Or if you want I'll let you connect to my box through SSH. |
