| Here's a quick list of the major certifications you can obtain using Linux besides CompTIA's. Good luck!
RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) is the top Linux cert you can obtain in my opinion. My training center rented out computer labs to these guys and the classes are typically small, but extremely hardcore. Testing consists of written exam and hands on lab practical. http://www.redhat.com
LPI (Linux Professional Institute) is a vendor-neutral cert. There are two levels: General Linux I and General Linux II.

SAIR Linux & Gnu Certification. You become a Linux Certified Professional. SAIR is another vendor-neutral certification.
