You could go to amazon.com
and do a search for that book
and read the reviews.
You can also just put Linux+ in a search
at amazon.com to list all current titles
to read the reviews of the other Linux+ books.

Those are the same two books I am using. Not so much the second book; that's more like a reference that I keep at the side.
It's hard to say how good a book is until after I take the actual exam, ya know? I'm also using the examcram book.

Hey Warfare,

I would recommend the following two books for you:

1st - Linux+ Certification Bible ISBN: 0764548816, it has 14 reviews for 4-1/2 stars on Amazon. Trevor Kay did an excellent job for the Server+ exam which is much more difficult than most CompTIA exams and also covers the hardware aspects very well for the Linux+ & Server+ exams as well. Previous polls here on ExamNotes has also recommend Trevor Kay for his style and content and ease of conveying the material.

2nd - Linux+ Exam Cram by Michael Jang also rated 4 stars. He has written several books including the Sair Linux/GNU Installation and Configuration Exam Cram (Exam: 3X0-101) that rated 5 solid stars from ALL 6 reviewers which is a much harder exam and also has a RHCE exam book from Osborne coming out soon. He truely writes for Linux/UNIX folks and his books are good!

As for ANY reviews by the Top 10 Reviewer: Michael Woznicki on Amazon, his 631 book reviews mostly come from the table of contents seeing he is paid to write glowing reviews! Only 1 review on Baseball rated 1 star otherwise for him -- 3 is Poor, 4 is good & 5 is Perfect with him! He has cost me some money for books and I will tell all the ExamNotes folks to ignore his reviews and concentrate on what paying customers write about their experiences with the books and exams!

As for the O'Reilly books, they are usually good quick references. I own the Osborne series for the Windows 2000 and other CompTIA exams (and I liked them), but I would recommend taking yours back and getting the IDG Book from Trevor Kay for the Linux+ exam!

I used the Trevor Kay Linux+ Bible
when I was studying for the Linux+ exam.

I passed no problem (this was back when Linux+ just came out)it was a very straight forward study guide.

Just study study study
and it always helps to get your hands on some good practice exams (like from this site).
Then make sure you understand why the correct answer it correct and why the other answers are wrong.

Good Luck

Thanks guys for your comments and suggestions.

I've already spent money on those 2 books I listed, a while ago from fatbrain.com and cant be returned.

I think I will rely on them plus "Linux in a Nutshell" , other linux guides and of course my experience and gut.

Next time I'll consult the forum members before I purchase materials and spend my hard earned cash
