Author Passed Linux+

Awfully lot of A+ questions but a fair test and not that easily attainable (more difficult as I thought).

I prepared with the Linux+ Exam Cram book, but only for one day (needed more but the guy scheduled the exam as well), this book is a must as it gives a good insight what to expect. Futhermore used the Linux+/LPI cramsessions (which are good!), some webresources and other Linux books. And needless to say played a lot with RedHat7.

Surprising it had many A+ questions.
Congrads on the passing mark.

Congrats on passing the test. Yes, it had tons of A+ type questions on mine, mostly SCSI. Anyway, welcome to the club!

Congrats!!!!!!!! I suspect the test will change over time and reduce the A+ type Questions just as they recently changed the Network+ test.
Good job, and I too thought the Exam Cram book was helpful.

Nice job!! I had alot of A+ hardware questions too. I would say A+ is recommeded before taking exam .

I would say it is necessary. I have not seen a Linux+ book yet that adequately covers all of the hardware objectives. Killing the A+ then nailing Linux+ should be a lot easier if done together same as Net+ and iNet+ go together.

Congrats on the pass. I think that the scsi questions are an important part of the exam. With this exam aimed at 'entry level' you would most likely make most use of your Linux knowledge configuring hardware with a Linux box. As you get more advanced, knowledge of shell scripting becomes critical.

Just my 2 cents...

Congrats! I think every CompTIA exam has some portion of the A+ material in it.

I think CompTIA either thinks its essential to know hardware and networking in each exam. or they created the overlap for marketing purposes. Evereyone must do this and that exam before taking this one, and that exam because he already had half of the material in the previous exam.

Anyway I dont think CompTIA thinks like that. They are not Microsoft
