I am trying to set up a laptop of mine with BSD 4.4 and I am having a bit of a problem.

I can install and the basics covered but I cannot seem to get X windows to load on this laptop.

I have a Micron Millennia Laptop with the Cirrus Logic CL-GD7548 vid card.

I keep playing around with the settings but nothing seems to work. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Or any other words of advice?

First thing I'd check is to see if the vid card is compatible with the xfree86 version you are using and if it's compatible with FreeBSD 4.4. To check the Xfree86 version you can just type X -showconfig at the command line.

I think it is because the card is actually listed in the server setup.

The version is 4.4
