| You only need to take a single exam to get your HP-UX certification. Rafeeq Ur Rehman's book "HP-UX Certified" is the one that most people use to study for the exam. I will be taking this one in a few months myself. | |

| hp-ux system administration
The HP Certified Exam number for this certification is Exam 3HO-002 (previously was 3HO-001).
The MPE/iX System Administration certification track is designed for system administrators. Candidates will take HP Certified Exam 3H0-401
Our UNIX/Microsoft Windows NT Integration certification track is designed for System and Network Administrators. Candidates will take HP Certified Exam 3H0-301.
It's all there on the website. Just read it. | |

| 1. Know your "basic UNIX" well (sed, awk, command substitutions, commands, regexps, etc.)
2. Know your network administration stuff (subnetting, topologies, arpa commands, etc.)
3. The most of the test will focus on system administration. This means know your logical volume manager stuff, booting procedure, kernel rebuilding, and so on.
This is a tough test, so prepare well. Maybe I will pass it next time round. Good luck. |
