I have been working with M$ for a while and was wanting to get a little more diverse in the O/S's that I know what would be a good place to start. What version of Linux or Unix is good to start with and what book would be good for a reference and for learning. Not sure if I want to get the certification or not yet but just want to start messing with it. Any help would be great

Thanks

welcome to the linux forum !
to start you should get your hands on a linux distribution
like Red Hat 7.3 or Mandrake 8.2
you can download the iso files from the net for free
install that on a pc and have fun
