I have the Teach Yourself Linux in 24 Hrs book that allows you to install Openlinux. I'm having trouble getting my on-board audio to work. I dual boot between Linux & Win 98. The sound works under Windows but not Linux. I'm new to Linux but I'm an easy/fast learner. I've tried working through the KDE desktop environment. Do I need to disable certain services, like sbaudio or sound, to get this to work or is my on board audio simply not compatible? I bought my pc from Tiger-Direct. I would think it should work but I'm stuck. Plus with two kids, it's hard sitting down to focus at time also . Anyway any suggestions will help. Thanks.

Did you try using the "sndconfig" command? You might also want to try using the ALSA sound drivers, I think you can d/l them from Caldera's web site.
