Hello Linux hard core fans, I came across this article today regarding Linux as I think there are prospects. In my opinion legacy systems which cost thousands of pounds are being replace by Linux a cheap and stable alternative. Lets, know you all think as you read the link below. Cheerio and enjoy. One last thing I don't work for Linux or have any relatives in this firm. I just like the OS as it's a remedy for a point and click person such as me. Well, I am in no means an expert either so I am really excited about the OS and espeially in it's gaining ground in the server enterprise market.

Linux is clearly here to stay. As I said before, I do not like Linux on the desktop for a corporate environment, but on the server side, there is no denying the qualities of that OS.

This being said, I am still a fan of Microsoft too

Linux is here to stay, it is no longer a fringe OS. I like Linux on the desktop personally, but I would hate to think of trying that for most people. Half of the users I support have a hard enough time with Windows. I also think that the Linux-Windows competition has done both camps a world of good. Linux GUIs and productivity apps have really matured with the Linux crowd feeling they were at war with MS and the MS producing the most stable of their products to date under threats from the Linux arena. A textbook case of the benefits of competition!

I like it as a desktop also
It is hard to support 50-60 users with
no linux skils ..but for somebody who knows what is doing it is great

The look by far is impressive and yet worth learning. Anyone ever applied for the linux creditcard and received that free shirt when it came out like 2 years ago?

Go to http://www.thinkgeek.net They have some geeky Unix/Linux shirts and stuff. Such as a "Got root" t-shirt. I dont know....I'd feel too much like a nerd if I bought one and wore it out.

I"m just getting into linux/unix after several years of M$ "conditioning", but I like the look and feel of it (FreeBSD is a little overwhelming so I'm going with red hat till I can take the training wheels off)
