Author updating to bind version 9 from 8

Has anyone here gone through this process?
If so I could use some samples of functioning zone files.
Our named.conf seems to pass a named-checkconf routine but our named-checkzone gives "ignoring out-of-zone data" error.
I`m not sure how to remedy this.
I`ve been on the bind mailing list but no-one seems to have any zone files they want to share with me.
Any help would be apreciated

Sorry, I have upgraded from version 4 to 8, but haven't went to 9 yet. I'll look about and see if I can come up with any info.

We went through that a couple of years ago
every major revision has different requirements in syntax it seems.
Are you still running an 8.xx version?

Yes, still running 8. I didn't install either of them, they came with the version of UNIX (HP) that I was using. I just used the defaults for each version. Do you have the O'Reilly DNS and BIND books? They helped me a lot at getting everything straight. Will try putting v9 on my BSD box at home in a few days, then maybe we can discuss it in a bit more detail.

I have it but need the latest revision of the book.
I appreciate the help.
