| I passed this morning before going to work . It was tough for a newbie like myself . The study material I used were Linux+ exam cram ,Linux+ Bible (recommended), cert21 and transcenders. I have also installed Red Hat , SusE and Mandrake . | |

| Gosh, it seems like everyone's getting the Linux+ cert. Maybe I should jump on the bandwagon. Congrats PCDude! | |

| Linux+ certification has one exam only ? and whats the requirement for that ? can you please let me know ?
cheers | |

| There is only one exam for the Linux+. It is recommended that you have six months of experience using Linux on a daily basis. The knowledge covered is thorough, but still basic, but the test goes very heavily on hardware. ccieToBe probably would not even need to study for it. Anyone with a few months using, configuring and managing Linux whould not have much of a problem with it. At any rate, it will at least look good on your resume to show that you have at least one UNIX-like cert. Best wishes to you. | |

| congratulations. I have a lot of Linux experience and have been using the Sybex Linux+ Study Guide. I find that either I am poorly prepared or the book doesn't cover the test well. Any thoughts?
thanks | |

| I used the Sybex guide and thought it was great. The only shortcoming it had was on the hardware objevtives, and the only thing that could prepare you for that I think would be a separate A+ or Server+ book. Hardware counts for like 20% of the test. | |

| Great job on passing your test. | |
|
| great job! I really have to get cracking on this test. I have been wanting to prepare for it for the longest time, but something else always seems to show up first. Now that Randy has almost finished his Linux+ for Freaks, I can't wait to start playing and studying
What is next for you? | |

When is it going to be ready? Just curious . . . I am doing my LPI next and heard it was a bit harder than the Linux+, so I figure I need all the help I can get. Am still kind of new at Linux. | |

| The Study Guide that Randy wrote is ready. We have a couple of admin tasks to work out he and I, and it will be published within a week... | |
