Can someone please explain to me how I can add a startup icon to my desktop or KDE start application bar after I install the RPM. Just for convience sake, opening the shell or run command line is ok, but it's starting to be a pain having to remember the names of the programs I installed.

Thanks,

Right click on the desktop or Panel and then click "Create New --> Link To Appication" then a dialog box will come up and then you hunt for the file to link to (the real program) and choose the icon you want and you're done.

I think you can also open up Konqueror and "drag and drop" the application to the desktop. Or go into your Desktop directory and make some symlinks to the real program.

I think there may also be a menu editor you can use to add the applnks to your desktops. Also search for an "applnks" or "applnk" folder, as that is where your menu items are stored. You can add to or take away from these directories as you see fit.

if i am not wrong, go to the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, right click on the mouse, select the preferences tab and from there select the appropriate application that u want to create shortcut of.
