Which one?

If Linux+ May I ask why?

I mean not to offend.Im not sure of its relevance.Espicially for someone looking at the HP-UX exams.Which im told are harder than the RHCE.

Good Luck with Linux+. I'm sure that you'll do well seeing that you already use Linux at work. Linux+ will be a nice stepping stone to other certs like RHCE and LPI.

Let us know how it turns out.

I just took the Linux+ about a week ago. It was harder than I thought it would be. I used "LPI Linux Certification in a Nutshell", and the Boson practice exams for Linux+. Plus I also have been using Linux sparingly for about 1.5 years.

Like another post I seen earlier, know your command line and also know the switches that go with the commmands.

For some reason I had a lot of filesystem questions. Also you may get a few on hardware. They used some pictures & diagrams to choose from.

But other than that it was a fair exam. The Boson practice questions are quite easy compared to the test I had.

Not to scare you but as soon as I seen the first question, I knew I was in for a tough one. I also wasn't sure if I passed until I hit that Exit button.

But a pass is a pass (I had 750 out of 900). Next on to the LPI exams.

Good Luck.

Well, I have no problem with the command line and use red hat onmy home computer exclusively. Have been running it about 2 years. Also have experience with Slackware, Caldera and SuSE. hardware is my weak point, so I have been trying to brush up on that, and I did think that the Boson questions were really very easy, so i hope that is a good sign. Will let you know what I make of it.

Yes, I know, but as my boss is paying for both, I didn't figure that it could hurt to add them to my list of certs. We mainly use HP-UX and Red Hat in my shop right now, so I have lots of experience with both, but I have heard that the HP-UX cert is a killer. And just because I like VMS doesn't mean that I can't be a UNIX guy as well, right? Thanks, though.
