Check it out, I am wrinting this post from my first Red Hat installation which is installed on a VMWare virtual computer. I.E. from a computer that doesn't even exist except in an emulator, neat stuff, Anyhow, my question is what the best book(s) is for
preparing for an RHCE certifiacation, I am reading SAMS Linux Unleashed and plan to get an Oreilly book on RH ( isbn 0-596-00071-5 ). So far I haven't seen any RHCE specific books though.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thx,
dagger

If this is your first RH installation then I suggest holding off on studying for the RHCE cert. Doing that would be like someone who just configured their first router pursing the CCIE cert. My suggestion is to start off my reading "Running Linux" and some of the tutorials at www.linuxdoc.org and www.linuxnewbie.org first to get an understanding of Linux.

Probably but I doubt it's the official course book.

Ok, so no real recommendations besides the links that ccieToBE gave ( thank you, btw ). I am starting off with Sam's Red Hat Linux 7.2 Unleashed and should be ready to start RHCE training after I finish. I am setting up my second Linux box today for extra installation practice.

I can browse through as many books as I want but then I have to guess which one does the best job of fully preparing me for the RHCE exam.

If you hear anything good about a particular book, send the information my way

I doubt that's the origonal book. I haven't read this so I can't really comment on it. The links I posted earlier are what I recommend starting out with.

Thanks ccieToBe I checked out the URL and it it's working. The problem with microsoft is that the cut off your oxygen so that they can charge you for every breath you take.
