I have a station running redhat 7.2, actually I would like to change the password which is "localhost" to Helios, I have looked in many files for a while but could find nothing. in mandrake version you can do it by editing etc/HOSTNAME, or type "hostname helios" but it doesn't work with redhat. How Ican i do it ???
thanks for you help !!!

I found this doing a search:
The hostname command can change the hostname but if it the system is rebooted, it will revert back to its previous hostname. To make the change permanently, change the HOSTNAME value of /etc/sysconfig/networking to a new hostname. The next time the system boots the rc.sysinit will read the /etc/sysconfig/networking and change the hostname. This apply for RedHat linux distribution but I am not sure about other distribution.
