I took the IBM eServer Certified Expert Linux exam 476 yesterday and passed with the minimum passing score of 680. It was not too bad compared to some of their other tests. I should have studied more, but wanted to get it over with. It is very IBM software specific, dealing with Domino Enterprise server, Websphere, DB2, and funny enough also Samba configuration. I still need to pass LPI level 1 to complete the requirements for IBM server expert in Linux. The materials I am using are LPI in a nutshell, which is very nutshellish, hence the name, and a practical guide to linux. Has anyone used and of the practice software available, and has anyone taken this one lately? Any feedback on the exams would be great. Also, is anyone working on the LPI exams and when do you plan on taking them? Thanks in advance for any feedback that y'all can give!

For study material, you might want to check out the LPIC 1 Certification Bible (ISBN 0764547720). I thumbed through it when I was in Borders Books the other day and it looked good. As with most books in the Hungry Minds "Bible" series, there are lots of questions and diagrams. It is more substantial than the O'Reilly LPI 1 study guide.

Good Luck with the LPI!
