| hi all is there some kind of defrag utillity in linux and what is it called.
I am not very good at all at linux so be easy on me I have mandrake 7.2 deluxe.
I would love to use linux more but seems a lot harder than windows but linux seems a lot more powerful. | |

One of the great things about Linux is that harddrive fragmentation isn't really an issue. There are defrag utilities out there but I don't see the point of using them. Most *nix partitions types (ext2, ext3, ffs, reiser...) almost never reach more then a fraction of a percent fragmentation because of their designs. | |
