Getting The People At Sco To Respond!
|

| I took (and passed) my UnixWare Admin
1 and 2 exam back in August, and have
not received my certification yet! I can't
even get a person on the phone over there
to speak to in their education department!
Anyone have any ideas of what my next
step should be? Should I just frame my
test result and move on to Microsoft?

| Did you try sending them written letters? They are more likely to be productive in general than emails are. Phone requests often get you the runaround as well. | |

| Yeah, letters, faxes, phone calls, the
works! I should've mentioned that.

Unfortunately, I have to talk to them
every day at work. I'm not going to
on my own time!!! | |

I am not sure it is really worth the bother. If you passed the test, you get the right to claim the cert. I doubt if anyone will ask to see it, and if they do, just hand them a copy of the test scores. Might want to just move on. Although I must say, this does not sound at all professional on the part of Caldera.

| I agree. Thanks for your input. | |

| Elroy I long for stuff like this. Nothing pisses me off more than people who provide a service then refuse to be accountable for there actions. And believe me I don't give up when it comes to the principle of the matter. And what pisses me off more is people who lay down and take it. I am currently harrassing a New York electronics distributor who is playing grab arse games with a freind of mine from So. Korea. I know you want your shingle(cert) from these people and seeing that you passed the test then yes you deserve it. You shouldn't settle for anything less, especially a print out from the testing center. Christ you paid them for the exam. Anyway if you need some help send me a PM and I'll gladly see what I can do to help you get what you deserve. | |

Linux Guy with all due respect it is worth the bother. He paid with his hard earned money for an exam that stated if he passed he would receive his certification and proof of that certification. So why should he expect anything less. That's part of the problem in this country, people letting other people get over on them. I've become so tired of companies taking advantage of the people who are making them rich. I went into a supermarket in Cambridge one day and the cashier literally threw my 4 items into a bag, threw them to the end of the check stand, took my money, pushed my receipt into my hand and didn't even say thank you. As a matter of fact didn't even look at me. Needless to say I went ballistic and called for the manager who could only say "humina, humina, humina". The bottom line is that we all work hard for our money and we should get what we pay for without any Bullshite. I don't mean to offend anyone, but when is enough going to be enough.

I agree. However, if the expense of getting what is due him outweighs the value of what he was supposed to get, I am not sure if you would win anything other than a moral victory. One way or the other, he has earned the cert, although if you could find some way of forcing Caldera to get his cert to him, I am sure he would be appreciative. The more I hear about this company, the less I respect them.

| Thanks for the offer, Iggy. It's appreciated. I have not given up. I'll be trying to get a hold of someone as long
as it takes!
Things are definitely not tight over there. Sco, Caldera, whoever they are today, put me through to someone the other day (the receptionist did) to see if this person could help. Get this... The guy was no
longer an employee. How did I know this? He said so on his voice mail greeting!!! He
said he would still check his voice mail while he could. Marvelous! Maybe I'll have
my kids make me a cert! I'll keep you
folks updated. Thanks, again!

| Not a problem. I wish you the best of luck. Sorry about the rant but I get so pissed off when people pull this shite. Linux Guy or should I call you Mr. Linux Guy. J/K I do agree with what you said but I must say that yes sometimes a moral victory is worth it. just mho. | |

I agree, but I was thinking in terms of "lawyer fees", I guess. I was basing my comments on typical legal fees.

Once again I agree. I believe if I intrepreted the post right that Elroy works with lawyers so maybe one of them could make a pro bono phone call for him. Sometimes thats all it takes.

| had a similiar problem with Citrix when I passed the CCA exam.
It ended up being a communications problem between Citrix and Prometric. You might want to try calling the test provided and see if they can help

| Dok, good idea! I haven't gone that route
yet. I will tomorrow! Thanks again, for
everyone's input! |
