A question about a SAIR question
| I took the [CENSORED] exam yesterday (64%... Grrr... ). One question was about a "gcc compiler" and where its files were. The answers were like [CENSORED]. I have not been able to find a reference to a "gcc compiler" in any of the books I have. Anyone know what this is and willng to enlighten me? I'm taking the exam again tomorrow. | |
| they are prolly just testing if you know what /var /usr /etc etc are used for etc.
gcc is /usr/local/? I believe.
gcc.gnu.org there is prolly some info in the manual or install guide as to default target.
and *cough*... atleast disguise your post a little... not *straight out of the test center!*....
| Disguise my post? What for? I'm not asking, "Yo, tell me the anz0r plz thanx!". I'm asking for something that I can look up so I can research it myself. Is there a moratorium on asking for clarification after taking an exam? Sorry, I don't feel like putting it off. Thanks for the site address. That's all I needed, sarcasm notwithstanding *cough*. | |

| eeer the matter is not you asking question, the matter is you POSTING question that is on the exam. Whether you ask for the answer is irrelevant.
if I were to take the SAIR exam, this is atleast 1 question I will get right won't it?...

| Hmm... Your point is taken, albeit a little ironic considering this message board is part of a website that bombards you with ads for practice exams and even supplies a different message board for individual tests for some certifications. Logically, one could assume that anything asked on these boards pertains to an actual question on a particular exam - wether it's implicitly stated or not. | |

| Believe me, the irony is not lost. Webmaster provides us with a forumm (for free) and he must pay for this space somehow. We, as a community of certified professionals, attempt to maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and comradery. These forums are not nearly as repressive as some others (try posting that Q on cramsession), yet we try to self-police ourselves and not let things get out of hand. |
