Forgive my ignorance, but I have been looking to dive into linux for quite a while, I just never had an extra computer to give it a whirl on till yesterday.

its a pretty old ibm pc100...
socket 5 (100MHz)
32MB RAM
2GB HD (I plan to add 3GB on the other controller)

seeing as how i'm probably only gonna be able to install RedHat 5.0 on it, I'd like to know where I can get it from (online preferably), what verions will run on the affermentioned specs, and is it a good starting ground.

Thank you.

Finding 5.0 might be a bit of a challenge. Unless you can find an old cd. I have 7.1 installed on a P100 32MB RAM and it works fine. Keep things minimal and remember that gnome and kde are a no go.
