Hey all,

I'm learning Linux without KDE or GNOME, just from borne shell (#....). I wanted to install mozilla so I can surf the Internet without needing KDE or GNOME. Can someone show me a specific step (FTP steps to download Mozilla from mozilla.org)...

for example, I logged into mozilla by doing the following:

#ftp
>open ftp.mozilla.org

then i get:
Name(ftp.mozilla.org:root):

then i'm stuck.

what do i do from here?

i don't know the login name and password. and i don't know what file to download.

i know, you're probably sitting there laughing at me... but that's okay... i'm learning so i can't complain.

thanks
mikop

type anonymous
then supply email,
us ls cd pub etc and navigate to wahtever file name it is.
pub/release/mozilla whatever/etc prolly
then use get

edit: i should add... you need x, be it kde or gnome or which ever other manager so make it simple on yourself and just use gftp... unless ftp command is on some test or something then this may be a nice exercise.
