hello,

I am new to Linux, now I just want to know if I wanna make a Linux firewall, can i choose "install as workstation" when installation? or must use "Server" option but it doesn't have x-windows (no fun)...

I'm not sure what distro you're using, but regardless of what's installed with the "workstation" and "server" options, you can always add on whatever apps are needed. X-window has a lot of security issues although you'll probably still be more secure then you would with a Windows box. Don't run x on your firewall if you have anything important on your network.
