| Darkfire Linux is a new distro that's still in the planning stages. It will be optimized for 686s and have a strong emphasis on both security and performance. There are plans to include a ports system simular to what's included with most of the BSDs.
I'm one of those who's working on this distribution. We can use whatever help we can get, especially from developers. If you're interested, you can get some info on Darkfire and how to become involved at these two links:

| Thanks Kasor. I can't take credit for comming up with the name, but it is cool. We should have a working alpha version soon (just need to get the installer working), so I'll be sure to post on it whenever we get to that point. Something I forgot to mention in the first post is that it will use the Reiserfs filesystem by default. Journaling file systems are nice. |
