Overall Slackware's my favorite Linux because it's the most Unixy. Mandrake's my pick if you want something functional but relatively easy. Debian's my third pick since its packaging system is really nice.

FreeBSD's the coolest though

Although Im pretty much a newbie myself...Caldera Open Linux is very user friendly.RH 7 is also very slick. If I could recommend something...Do yourself a favor.READ Running Linux. Awesome and it will really get you going.Beware albeit a strange world at first.Linux is completely addictive

CCIEtobe what version of the Mandrake's do I download for a stable home PC? I like the look of that one and the support seems to be
good.

Also I will try to read "Running Linux" because I am a baby to linux!

Thanks guys!

I suggest using version 8.0 although the stable version of 8.1 will probably come out sometime in the next few weeks. I'd never heard of Redmond Linux until I took a look at that link, but it looks like it may be good for those new to Linux once it gets out of beta.

Mandrake's, SuSe, and RH will be a good start....
