| I haven't read any Linux certification books, but Sybex books are usually good. I don't know about the series that books is in. | |

| I've seen this book around, not too bad, and both husband and wife team are LPIC Level 1. I passed the exam before this book came out, but had a good look at it and thought it was very well presented in terms of technical details and readability.
Good books I would recommend are ExamCram 101 (not 102 which sucks and doesn't help in the full coverage), and LPIC in a Nutshell, which is sufficient to pass both exams. | |

| I am finding in my studies so far that the Mike Meyers book is really thorough on the what and why of how things work. It is a bit intimidating by its size though...lol
But I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about the way things work as well, rather than the books that only prepare for the exam...
My opinion, take it for what it is worth...

| O'Riley has a book called "LPI Linux Certification in a nutshell" which is done well. It has both exams covered. Each exam section also has detailed text and a "cram" section at the end of just the "facts". At the end there are also some walk-through labs. I bought it, read it, and then decided to go the Sair/GNU Certification route instead (but not because of the O'Riley book). Regardless, the O'Riley LPI book still looks good.
