Can I install Gnome after 7.1 setup?

| Hi Gang
I just loaded a machine with Red Hat 7.1. I have NEVER used UNIX, so I am unfamiliar with the commands, etc.
Is it too late to install the Gnome Desktop? Or can I load it from the CD set? If so, can someone get me started with some basic commands to get there?
Thanks | |

I'm not too familiar with RedHat's installation processes, but if there's an "upgrade" option, that would probably work. If that doesn't work and you already have some form of X loaded I'm sure RedHat has some GUI program, possibly on the desktop that allows you to easily install apps. If neither of those are there, RPM's are fairly easy to work with, so you could go with that. I'd normally say try installing from the source, but Gnome's a very large app, so it probably isn't a good app to learn to compile and such with. | |

| Yeah building GNOME looks a tad tricky.Maybe you could go through an upgrade installation and just change your GUI.Truthfully though if you want to start to really learn it...dont even use X |
