Just curious: Are there any Linux+ exam study books out now or any plans for the future?

Yes, do a search on your favorite book seller's website and you should find a few that are coming out soon. AFAIK none are out yet.

Sybex books are usually good. IMO only Cisco press consistantly does a better job, but I don't see many Linux books being put out by them.

I believe ExamCram has a book out now for the Linux+ exam.
