hi everyone,

any experts here can give guidelines on linux doing routing or act as an router.

currently doing one with 2 nic cards.


how to do routing ?

wat are the steps and commands needed to configure?

i have key in the ip address for the interface already.

and how to do a ip nat?

any idea on how to configure and steps?

would be appreciated and needed urgently .

It depends on how you want to accomplish this and what variant you're using. A lot of Linux distros come with GUIs or wizards that will allow you to configure routing and NAT easily. For example, RedHat and Mandrake have linuxconf. This would be the easiest way to accomplish this, but not the best way to learn about Linux's interworkings. Another way to do this is from the command line which is more difficult, but will help you to learn more about the OS.
