I just want to know what you all think of the LPI certifications.

Do you think there is a market for LPI practice exams?

I think so. More and more people are turning to Linux and seeking Linux certifications. I would write the LPI exams, because I think it's important to gain a wide range of knowledge - after all in the workforce we aren't going to be dealing with only Microsoft setups.

I agree. The LPIC-1 seemed not too hard to me, but a fairly reasonable test of badic Linux competency. Since there will supposedly be three different levels eventually, it will probably be of more use than the Linux+, which I see probably as more of an intro cert like the other CompTIA certs. And the RHCE is mainly for experts and due to the price I'll bet few people will be interested in trying for it. So I think it might be a good thing to try, especially now that the new Samaba is out and can talk to Windows 2000 clients. Just my 1/50 dollar.

Namaskaar Vinodji,

One of the best peices of advice I can give you to pass the LPIC-i is to get a distro of Linux that you are interested in, and get a book like "Red Hat Unleashed" or "Caldera Unleashed" and study through the book while at your computer. Most of what you will need to know will be covered or at least touched upon in this way. Once you fele like you know and can handle "your" Linux system, then start looking at the test objectives at the LPI site and see if there is anything more that you need to cover. Maybe a exam prep book might be helpful. I think we have some Linux questions here or at cert21 and there is a good studyguide at cramsession. Hope this helps, bhaii. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

I would like to do since last year. However, never have time and enough information to encourage me to do it.

Anyone is joining the force together.

Have anyone took LPI exam yet?

Any feedback
Randy

I'm just waiting for the second and third levels to come out. I already have my LPIC-1, haven't really studied for the other ones yet.

I have always wanted to take the LPI exam, but I couldn't found any good resources about it. O'Rielly is gonna publish a LPI exam book this month and I have ordered it. I will let you guys know what I think of this book later.
