Getting NIC to Work
|
|
|
| Hi Guys,
Has anyone gotten the linksys LNE100TX v4 NIC to work under Linux or Solaris?
If so, I would appreciate any help you can offer. If not, I would still appreciate any help or guidance.
Thanks a bunch,
ea

| Not familiar with that card. Could you give some more info? Is your system recongising the card at all? | |
|
| Randy,
Solaris 8 does not recognize it. It is a 10/100 card made by Linksys. Nothing special about it. Works well under Win2k and W98.
I would not be against buying another NIC that works with Solaris. Do you know of one that does? It's for my home network, so I don't need an expensive NIC.
Thanks

| Usually Solaris seems to have pretty good support for NICs. Try looking up the site at:
http://www.sun.com/products-n-solut...nectivity/cpci/
The Solaris NIC that I have is a Token-Ring NIC but it is rather old. If your card is not that new, maybe Sun was not able to write any drivers for it. Hope the link helps. Might try asking Yeti as well, as I think he more Solaris experience than I do. | |

| Thanks Randy for your help. I'll check the link out and keep searching for answers.

| Sorry, I couldn't be of more help, but I am a newbie at Solaris myself. Try posting in the Sun forum and you may get some more helpful responses. |
