Sorry dude, I just checked back in. Nautilus is a graphical shell for GNOME very similar to Windows Explorer only a bit more colourful. I find it a reasonably good tool, and very easy to use but then I tend to use KDE more and it has it's own File Managing Utilities so I haven't messed around with it much. I usually prefer using the console to do my file managing most of the time, but this does have some unique features like the 'preview' pane that you find in the Win98/ME Explorer shell. Is great for new users and will make anyone familiar with windows more comfy with the Linux Desktop. It is icon-driven and has a number of user settings -- beginner, itermediate and advanced I think to allow the configs to be set to the appropriate level. I have heard reports that the initial release was a bit buggy, but I have never had any probs with it. Check out the reviews below for more info.

i came to the rite spot again. i had also heard what i thought was a suggestion or imply that there was possible some buggyness or difficuties, but mainly that it a good step in the right direction toward user freindliness. umm if i can get a 2nd machine up and running then maybe i try it. thz randy and lol to all ye Linux devotees
