| I am just investigating, and deciding if I want to get a Linux cert or Sun Solaris admin 1 cert, Im in the process of Finishing up my MCSE, and will be moving on to Some sort of Unix Cert...are there any good training video, that I can follow along at home, while I integrate it in my network at home? Thanks everyone.

| I wouldn't know . . . believe it or not, I don't own a telly so have little use for videos. Still, the best training would be to get a distro and start working on it yourself and playing around with the commands, utilities and what-not. Have seen few tech videos that I have been much impressed with. SOlaris does have some certs available, you may want to ask Yeti, as I think he is playing around with it now, and gizmo also is looking into taking some Solaris admin courses. For Linux, now there is the basic LPIC certs -- pretty basic but you gotta know your stuff pretty well. RHCE is still a bit steep for my working-class wallet. Best wishes. | |

| I can't help you out much here either. The Unix certification market is so small that it would be tough to find any videos. Like Randy said, the best training would be to start off playing around with one of the more basic Linux distros, and advance from there. There have been a lot of posts on what distro to start off with, and how to dual boot, so you may want to take a look at those.
