Hey all,

I have redhat installed. Everything was running fine but suddenly the network card is not being detected now. I tried changing the network card but no result. I am sure the network card is fine. The error message i am getting is " Bringing up interface eth0: failed.

I am a newbie to this so please have mercy on me and expain the solution in simple language.

Did this just start happening? That is, was the NIC being recongised before?

This happened suddenly. The nic was being recognised previously.

What kind of NIC is it? I know PCI and Linux don't always get along that great. Did you try moving it to a different slot just to make sure this isn't a hardware problem?
