| I took the first Sair Linux test, Installation and Configuration, well you can take the tests in any order, but thats the logical first one. by passing either that test or the System Administration test, you get the Linux Cert. Pro. designation.
The test, you could tell it was written by college professors, or people in that area (Ole Miss Alumni), there were a lot, let me stress, a LOT of "choose 2" questions, and a couple choose all that apply, but i think they did specify how many they wanted. Know you're commands, know how to work with different virtaul consoles, close crashed consoles, know how to edit LILO, such as the "boot" and "append" section. Xwindows was not a big part of this test, actaully i cant really remember any questions on it, except like "Xwindows will not load, what is most likely the case" but nothing besides that, this is a much harder test than Linux+, well, its more indepth and without as many A+ questioons.
To my surprise there were a good bit of hardware questions, i didnt really expect any. Couple on SCSI like "how many pins" or " what is the first scsi harddrive called, /dev/sda, or /dev/sdb' ". Now im off to System Administration.. well good luck to anyone taking this exam ..
