In my networking class we have to give a presentation on pretty much any topic related to networking in some way. I thought to do it on Linux, but that is a bit broad. I'm thinking to just give an overview on Linux such as how it's use on the desktop and as a NOS, different flavors, networking capabilities, certifications, etc. Any suggestions?

you could do a report on somethin like "Integrating Linux into an NT4 environment", and talk about how you can replace virtually all the nt4 servers using samba, and other services .. jus an idea ..
or "Using Linux as Routing solution" and u could use the documentation at the Linux Router Project linuxrouter.org site .. i like the first one better though, well good luck ..

I like neuralfx's ideas, especially the Samba one. If you really want to make things interesting compare Linux+Samba to NT/2000 and NetWare. That way you have the two big commercial options and the open source alternative. If you have any questions about Samba, let me know. I deal with it a lot at work. Here's samba's homepage:
